Jo trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and has taught a variety of clients the invaluable aspects of deep core training for over 5 years. More recently she has also trained in high intensity (HIT Pilates).
Recovering herself from several injuries, including a broken back, has always found pilates a huge benefit to facilitating recovery, but also to the prevention of injuries.
Pilates was first developed to help those with back pain and to develop a better awareness of posture and improve strength to the stabilising muscles of the body.
Pilates is suitable for all levels. Jo teaches 1:1 and group sessions for beginners to those competing at international level in all disciplines of sport.
Pilates can be done from your own home or chalet, get in touch to find out more.
WHAT TO EXPECT
If you have never done Pilates, then on a first session it is recommended you have a 1:1 (1/2 hour) assessment session, so that the basics can be taught and you feel confident that you are indeed activating those core muscles, with good postural alignment. This is not essential and all people are welcome to the group sessions. Just get in touch with Jo to discuss what it is you are looking for and what experience you may have. Ideally bring some water, a small head towel and mat if you have one to a class
